I can adapt easily to a change of schedule and plans, if my morning ritual remains. I like to wake up to a quiet house, a clean kitchen with an empty sink and a warm cup of coffee in my hands.
From an early age I have nurtured a passion for home. I vividly remember doing house chores and imagining what I would have done if I had owned a home as an adult. It is memories like these that bring me back to simpler times with fewer responsibilities. The meaning I gave to "home" had an impact that most people do not feel until they reach adulthood. Organizing, cleaning, and logically connecting rooms is part of how I enjoy my rooms. I felt the urges of an interior designer while not knowing what one was!
The way I look at a house is by knowing there are needs to be met and rituals to be respected to have a satisfied homeowner/s. Creating a wish list is only the beginning of a design journey. However, it is essential to build a home with intentions that suits the people living in the home.
When in the morning I set my intentions for the day and move through my schedule, I need to make sure my kitchen sink is clean, and my coffee is freshly brewed! What are your needs, what is your must-have in a home?
