Alessia's work through the years

As an American with Roman roots, Alessia was born in Michigan, moved to Rome in her early childhood, and earned a degree in Design and Survey in Italy. Her early career included work at Studio Dedalos, an engineering firm in Rome, where she curated drawings for ADR's Leonardo D'avinci airport renovation and an Italian boutique retail named Onyx. During this time, she also drafted for Studio Cerqua in Guidonia to build an extensive residential complex of villas in the Roman country hills north-east of Rome.

Heritage

Her Roman roots instilled a deep appreciation for classical architecture and design, which heavily influenced her career choices. This connection to her heritage drove her to focus on projects that blended modern techniques with historical elegance. Her work reflects a distinct fusion of contemporary and traditional design principles.

Job experiences

During her move to Detroit, Alessia worked in the hospitality industry with projects in Costa Rica and Puerto Rico. After joining a commercial and retail design firm in 2011, she realized her passion was residential design. As a result, she co-founded reDesign home, a residential interior design firm. Since Alessia left Detroit in 2015, she has worked with homeowners in the Greater Chicago Area.

This August marks the beginning of an exciting chapter with a Design Studio named after her namesake, Alessia Zanchi Loffredo, AZL Interiors. Alessia's design philosophy centers around creating spaces that blend functionality with timeless elegance and sophisticated warmth. She believes that every home should reflect its inhabitants' unique aesthetics and lifestyles. Her approach involves meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that each element contributes to a cohesive and harmonious environment.

One of her most notable projects in the Greater Chicago Area was the renovation of a Dutch colonial-style home in Winnetka and her English cottage in Glen Ellyn. Alessia transformed the dated interiors into a moder yet timeless space, seamlessly incorporating the home's original architectural details with contemporary finishes. In addition to being featured in prominent design magazines, Beta-Plus will publish a book featuring the Winnetka project in Fall 2024.
